DAYHA Volunteer Registration

All Team Managers, Locker Room Monitors, Board Members, Coordinators, and any volunteer that will have regular contact with or authority over DAYHA players are required to complete the following registration steps.  

Game day volunteers for penalty box, clock and scorekeeping are not required to register.

For Boys Travel Hockey (10U/Squirt, 12U/Peewee, 14U/Bantam) DAYHA requires one male parent or guardian to register as a Locker Room Monitor volunteer per family.

For Girls Only Travel Hockey (10U, 12U, 15U) DAYHA requires one female parent or guardian to register as a Locker Room Monitor volunteer per family.

• Per family volunteer commitment for Travel levels:
• $1700 post dated check (February 1, 2026); and
• 17 hours volunteer time
• Non-travel levels:
• $800 post dated check (April 1, 2026); and
• 8 hours volunteer time
• First Year Non-Travel Players:
• No volunteer hours or deposit checks are required

(Note: volunteer hours are subject to change and if so, communication to the Association will be provided.)

Deposit checks will not be cashed prior to the end of the season, unless a family elects to make a cash contribution in lieu of volunteer hours. At the conclusion of the season, deposit checks will be destroyed if volunteer hour requirements have been met, checks will be cashed if volunteer requirements have not been met.  NO partial refunds.

Running the clock, announcing, team locker room duties, or monitoring a penalty box (minor officials) at home league games or scrimmages do not count towards volunteer hours.

If you have a special circumstance which will prevent you from completing your hours, you must make a special request with the volunteer coordinator who will seek approval from the DAYHA board.  This request should be made as soon as you become aware of the circumstance. Requests after February 1, 2026, will not be granted.

When sending your volunteer check, please include your player's name and the level of play. Please send your volunteer checks (POSTDATED TO FEBRUARY 1, 2026 for travel levels and April 1, 2026 for non-travel levels) to:

You must obtain your unique USA Hockey volunteer confirmation number for the current season. It will be required for all of the remaining steps. Select membership type of Manager/Volunteer.

USAH Requires background screening every two years. The cost is $30.

Not sure if you need a new background screen this year? Follow the link above and click through to Begin a New Background Screen. After you proceed past the welcome page and answer six short questions about your background, the next screen is titled Applicant Lookup. After you enter your last name, SSN and DOB, the system will tell you if you are ineligible to submit a background check at this time and must wait until next year.

USAH requires SafeSport Training that must be renewed every 12 months. Training is available 60 days prior to the date of expiration. If your certification expires, you are ineligible to participate as a volunteer.

Not sure if your SafeSport Training is current? Follow the link above and access the US Center For SafeSport Training by logging in with your current USA Hockey Volunteer Confirmation Number and USA Hockey Password. (The screen will say MyHockeyHQ Portal Login.) Once logged in, it will show your SafeSport Training expiration date or your available SafeSport Training Courses.

If your registration is set to expire mid season, a notification email will be sent to the email address on file with USAH.
