CALENDAR UPDATES
Everything ice-related (indoor and outdoor) and use of boardroom:
Email malo.troy@delanosportsarena.com and dayha.ice@gmail.com. (e.g., D3 game changes, scrimmages (including away scrimmages, important to track ice touches), use of board room for meetings).
Things you may add to the calendar yourself:
Remember, it’s always best to check that there’s not a high school game during your planned dryland, shooting, or outdoor ice – we could have missed this conflict and we cannot hold anything during high school games. You may also add non-ice-related events to your team calendar (e.g., team meals, team service projects) on your team page.
CLOCK TRAINING
This link is a good clock training video (start at 3:51).
LOCKER ROOM MONITORING POLICY
The locker room monitoring policy is available here. Managers and coaches, please make sure to discuss at your season kick-off parent meetings.
SCORING
All league games must be scored on iPad using Gamesheet. Scrimmages can also be scored using Gamesheet, just need to be categorized as "exhibition game." If out of state, will need to use paper. Watch tutorials at help.gamesheet.app.
SCRIMMAGE REMINDERS
If DAYHA (coach, level-leader) scheduled scrimmages for your team at season-start, please still reach out to the other team and verify date, time, place, and fee arrangement for each scrimmage. If a home scrimmage that DAYHA scheduled for you at season-start, DAYHA did not schedule the refs.
Any scrimmages you schedule, you need to email dayha.ice@gmail.com so that the ice calendar can be updated (even if away scrimmages, dayha.ice needs to know so that your team doesn't get scheduled for a practice, etc.). Once you notify dayha.ice, they will update your calendar for you. If a home scrimmage, you need to schedule the refs and you will need to pay the refs the day of the scrimmage (ref fee schedule is below). About 15 minutes before the scrimmage, you should knock on the ref door, ask to see what level ref they are, and pay them the appropriate ref fee for their level. If refs not there, immediately call Mike 612-618-4001 or Denise 612-554-1960.
SUB GOALIE
Go to Substitute Goalie tab on D3 Manager page for forms and rules regarding Substitute Goalies.
https://www.d3hockey.org/manage
Sub Goalies are not allowed for Squirt / 10U teams, except for extenuating circumstances.
Contact our association's D3 representative to have form approved by our association and passed along to D3.
Weather D3 Game Cancellation Procedures
The coaches of both teams should talk to each other to determine what they think is the best plan. If they agree cancellation is needed, each head coach should call the D3 President at least 90 minutes before the game and alert their ice schedulers of their plan. The D3 President will then inform the referee scheduler (currently Mike Anderson) to cancel the game; the ref scheduler will only cancel on the order of the D3 President. Once the game has officially been cancelled, the ice schedulers will work together to get the game rescheduled. The reschedule fee is generally waived for weather cancellations. The weather policy is in the D3 rules and regs.
